Awareness Session at Perennial Technologies in Pune

YI Pune organized an awareness session on organ donation under the project “Gift an Organ” on 4th September 2018 in collaboration with Organ Receiving & Giving Awareness Network (ORGAN) India, an initiative of the Parashar Foundation. Dr Sourabh Sharma, Project Manager, ORGAN India, started the session by asking the audience the need for discussing organ donation, in order to engage the audience and gauge their level of information about the topic. He then explained the rational basis of the need, what is the gap between demand and supply of organs in India. The audience was informed about who can be an organ donor and what all organs can be donated. He also elaborated on the term called brain death. Lastly, the myths related to organ donation were discussed. It was indeed a very interactive session hosted by Perennial Technologies and was attended by 35 individuals.
