The 5th Annual Poster Making Competition was held by ORGAN India, Nehru Planetarium and NOTTO for schools in Delhi/NCR. The competition that was held on 21st November 2022 at the Nehru Planetarium, and aimed to create awareness on the concept of Organ Donation among students and teachers and encouraged students to bring out their thoughts on the subject and bring out the spirit of giving which is the hallmark of the selfless act of organ donation.
The Chief Guest was Director NOTTO, Dr. Krishan Kumar, Ms. Anika Parashar- Chairperson and Founder ORGAN India, Mr Anurag Arora- Assistant Administrator Officer, Nehru Planetarium were the other dignitaries present. Jury members Mr. Satyajit Gupta- VP, Assistant General Counsel and Head Of India legal and CSR, EXL, Mr. Karhun Nanda- Heart Transplant recipient, Mr. Rahul Prajapati- Heart Transplant recipient, Ms. Rasna- Supporter of ORGAN India and donor family, Ms. Kavita Puri- Supporter of ORGAN India, Mr Rajesh Harsh- Senior Planetarium artist
Karhun Nanda (Heart Transplant Recipient), Rahul Prajapati (Heart Transplant Recipient) also addressed the students and told them about their experiences and their upcoming participation in Team India at the upcoming World Transplant Games 2023 at Perth, Australia.
76 students participated from 25 different schools. The competition was organized for the students of classes 9th to 12th divided into two categories viz. Category 1 – Class 9th & 10th and Category 2 – Class 11th & 12th. The theme of the competition was ‘‘Organ Donation – There is Life After Death’. Students chose any one of the following sub themes for making their posters on the spot:
The concept of Daan in Organ Donation – Saving lives with Angdaan.
Sports after transplant games – I can be fit and play sports and win medals for my country after transplant.
My eyes will see two lives.
