ORGAN India, under the aegis of NOTTO, organized the ‘3rd Collaborative Conclave on Organ Donation 2018’ on November 29th, 2018 in New Delhi. The Annual Conclave, saw more than 25 NGOs and Government Organizations coming together on one common platform. It is a unique event, where National and Regional, Government and Non-Government stakeholders come together to discuss and identify the issues, challenges, possible solutions, and the scope of work going way forward in the ecosystem of India’s organ donation program. It enables addressing concerns under one umbrella and thus strengthening awareness, public policy and advocacy initiatives. This year, the Conclave was attended by 55 individuals representing NGOs from across India, ROTTOs, NOTTO, and officials of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.
Dr. Vasanthi Ramesh, Director, NOTTO was the Chief Guest and Dr. Promila Gupta, Principal Consultant, DGHS, MoHFW, GOI was the Special Guest for the program. Session was moderated by Ms. Anika Parashar, Founder Trustee, ORGAN India. They along with Dr. Anil Kumar, Additional DDG, NOTP Program Officer, DGHS, MoHFW; Dr. Harsha Jauhari, Technical Advisor, NOTP, DGHS, MoHFW; Dr. Sanjay K. Agarwal, Professor & Head, Dept. of Nephrology, AIIMS addressed the concerns raised by all stakeholders and shared the way forward with everyone. A special session by Milaap on how to raise funds for transplant patients was also conducted. All major NGOs attended the conclave viz. MOHAN Foundation, MOTHER, Shine India Foundation, Dadhichi Deh Dan Samiti, A Million Pledges, Zublee Foundation, Apex Kidney Foundation, Muskan group, Shatayu, Kiran Foundation, Light a Life Reena Raju Foundation, Gift of Life Adventure, NNOS Foundation, Body & Organ Donation Society of India, and Mindsparks Foundation.
