ORGAN India was Knowledge Partners with the Annual Transplant Coordinators Conference, 2019 of the Indian Association for Transplant Coordinators, held under the banners of NOTTO, the Congress of Asian Society of Transplantation (AST) and the Indian Society of Organ Transplantation (ISOT). The conference was organized on 30th September and 1st October.
Apart from being Knowledge Partners to the Indian Association of Transplant Coordinators (IATC), our CEO, Ms. Sunayana Singh, was invited as Faculty to deliver an oration on “Promoting Organ Donation – Media & NGOs’ Contribution & Initiatives” at the conference.
Two ORGAN India research papers were presented at the conference. Dr. Devansh Vaish, CSR Lead presented our paper titled ‘In Depth Analysis of Queries Received on ORGAN India Helplines’. It was an analysis of what people are looking for when they call us on our Helplines, and what all stakeholders in the field of organ donation can do to help people better.
Dr. Geetika Vashisth, Senior Project Manager, presented ORGAN India’s paper titled ‘In-depth analysis of the socio-demographic profile of people from across India who pledged to be an organ donor’. The paper was an analysis of the people who are pledging, and their profile including age, gender, region etc.
ORGAN India also presented two posters at the conference. Dr. Sourabh Sharma, Project Manager, and Dr. Geetika Vashisth, Senior Project Manager, presented a poster on our Let’s Get ORGANized school project and its success. Dr. Geetika Vashisth, Senior Project Manager and Dr. Devansh Vaish, CSR Lead, presented a poster on the use of social media campaigns as a cost effective tool for reaching the masses to promote organ donation and to spread awareness. This poster was awarded as the Best Poster at the conference.
