Organ donation is a life-saving medical process where healthy organs and tissues from a deceased or living donor are transplanted into patients in need, giving them a second chance at life. Despite its immense impact, awareness about organ donation in India remains low, often due to myths and lack of information. To address this, a special discussion titled “The Gift of New Life: Organ Donation” was broadcast on Akashwani Delhi under the program “Dharti Aakash”, featuring Sunayana Singh, CEO of ORGAN India; Preeti Unhale, a heart transplant recipient; and Umakant Sharma, who donated a kidney to his wife, with the session hosted by Neelam Malkania and presented by Dilip Jha, highlighting the importance of organ donation as a noble act that can save multiple lives.
