On 24th October, 2013 an awareness session on organ donation and transplantation was organised by Organ Receiving and Giving Awareness Network (ORGAN) India – an initiative by The Parashar Foundation at Egon Zehnder, Gurgaon. The talk was held in partnership with the MOHAN Foundation, Delhi-NCR.
Egon Zehnder is the world’s leading privately owned, search firm with over 420 consultants working in 66 offices across 41 countries. Their core services include Executive Search, Board Consulting, and Leadership Strategy Services.
The talk was initiated and planned by Ms, Sunayana Singh, ORGAN India. The session was conducted by Ms. Pallavi Kumar, Executive Director, MOHAN Foundation, Delhi-NCR. In her presentation she introduced the Foundation and elaborated on the efforts made over the years to engage public awareness in deceased organ donation in the country. She also stated the dismal statistics with regard to organ donation in the country. Further; she wished there is more involvement of the Government to strengthen the deceased organ donation programme in the country and emphasized on how each one of us can proactively spread the word to promote the cause.
22 people attended and everyone signed the donor card and few of them picked it up for their family members. 45 donor cards were distributed.
